Yes, I signed up for the trial but I am still breastfeeding, so they don't want me at the moment.
I doubt I'll be offered it for a while though, as I'm young-ish and have no other risk factors. Lots of my colleagues (scientists and doctors, but not directly involved in vaccine research) have had the trial vaccines and they are all fine.
The efforts from the scientific community have been unprecedented, things are moving quickly because of the numbers of researchers involved, funds available and prioritised paperwork, not because corners are being cut in safety protocols.

You look at ways to model cholera spread after a tsunami? Excellent, have a grant to apply that to covid.
You think you can modify a drug detection system so that it can instantly detect and identify a virus. Sounds good, can you make one to specifically detect covid?
I'm very hopeful that things will be looking better by next summer! And we, as a species, will be well prepared for when the next pandemic virus strikes.
