Brilliant, simple, quick to read and digest graphic article explaining the science of superspreading and the importance of understanding how transmission works. Would recommend everyone take two minutes to look at this. And share it.

A tiny proportion (1%) of people who catch this shitty virus die. Yet me and millions of others face losing our livelihood and homes over this massive fucking overreaction. I’m feeling like there’s no point carrying on today because with no job and no home, there’s absolutely nothing left for me to live for. But what do I matter to those of you in secure jobs eh?

Me and my family are just Covid collateral. So you can take your pointless graph and shove it!

lostallhope77 I sympathise. But I don't think being really unpleasant to someone who's posted an interesting article - which advocates neither for more against a lockdown - is going to help you. And actually it just spreads more bad feeling, which we could all do without. I hope things feel more hopeful for you soon.

thank you!
That's really interesting. And looking back to a source is how outbreak control teams work, if I remember right.

So is it the case that with C-19 the contact tracing (such as it is) works forwards from each infected individual rather than backwards to where they had been previously? And Japan have done it looking backwards and had far greater success?

Fascinating stuff.

@lostallhope77, I'm so sorry - that must seem really insensitive of me, I hadn't seen your reply.

Thank you, really interesting I remember reading a similar type article about patient 31 in Korea near the beginning of the pandemic.

That’s excellent Giletrouge.
One area where I think the government’s response has been really crap is in not getting the word out about ventilation. My db is in Japan and he has said both ventilation and backwards contact tracing were key to the response since the spring.

lostallhope77 I'm so sorry. It really is shit for so many people.

But the science, clearly communicated so that people get it better, can only help. I think we have a huge problem with lack of compliance through ignorance and denial and things like this are potentially really helpful.
The science and the politics really are two different things.

The science and the politics really are two different things.

They are, but also they should be informing each other - which is what hasn't been happening in England, with BoJo being such a ditherer. Led too much by the politics and not enough by the science!

Sorry that it's so tough for you @lostallhope77 Flowers

Schools then? Grin

Just what was about to say!

Although I'm yet to hear of a big break out caused by a school 🤔
Before I get attacked by anyone I want schools open.
