Slimming groups in lockdown

I have just decided to go back to SlimmingWorld and really need to. Zoom didn’t work for me in April. Do you think it will come under support groups as mentioned in the guidelines:

“Support groups that are essential to deliver in person can continue with up to 15 participants where formally organised to provide mutual aid, therapy or any other form of support. This includes support to victims of crime, people in drug and alcohol recovery, new parents and guardians, people with long-term illnesses, people facing issues relating to their sexuality or gender, and those who have suffered bereavement.”

Essentially I guess not ☹️. 15 is probably too few anyway - what size are the groups now?

I hope so, they would if in tier 3 as a commercial business but as not essential I doubt it. I'm really going to struggle both physically with the weight gain/loss and mentally since SW has helped me massively in recovery from my ED. They closed last time, Zoom was useless for me too and I can't weigh myself at home. Solidarity Flowers

It's likely that the venue your SW group meets in will be forced to close by law - places like community centres will be locked down.

Just before my previous quote is says:
“Some venues will be allowed to remain open for specific exempt activities, like childcare and support groups.”

I am clutching at straws really but it is a possibility maybe especially as the government want us all to lose weight.

Dd continued quite happily with SW via Zoom. She has lost 60 lbs. If you are motivated you will work with it. If not it won't work anyway.

I attend a Slimming class and live in Wales so we have been in lockdown for the past week and our class has been closed and will be until 9th November. It depends where your class is held as the venue may be forced to close which would mean your class would have no where to go. Xx

Well done to your daughter. I was motivated and losing up to the end of March and then I wasn’t. I think the physical group does make a difference to me.

Bit of a bummer that it's all going to shut down for another month. My Pilates class had switched to Zoom and I was SO enjoying being back in the studio.

Can’t quite believe I’m saying this but have you looked at Noom? I’m 6kg down since starting it it September. I find the daily articles keep me focussed, and there is a forum to chat to others in the same boat.
