China have used tests like this last month. They tested a whole city brocade several cases had been found. I suppose they are the same tests. If true they will be a game changer.

Yes indeed! this could save a lot of people isolating without need and find asymptomatic cases. We will start having the upper hand on this damn virus!

Let's hope so. The article mentions production in UK, which will help indeed. Each country should be able to produce their own tests, PPE, and so on....

It's the only way.

But that means that we're relying on people who test positive reporting themselves as positive, for statistics and test & trace. Not sure I trust everyone to do that.

There are many threads on Twitter about how accurate the rapid tests are (or rather, are not). They are blamed for the White House outbreak. Reliability must be improving all the time, though.

My DC’s (private) school already has a rapid test machine. It may be something similar but, if it’s not, the school wasted £35k.

I’m really not comfortable with the army coming to my door and forcing me to take a test. I’m avoiding contact at the moment and it feels like a great way for them to spread the damn thing.

I think there are a fair few rapid tests though. Probably with different levels of accuracy. And I'm sure people are improving the accuracy and developing more types

How was BJ able to say that these tests would be rolled out "in the coming days" when there seems to be no actual tests to roll out?
