Self isolation times, how long for?

My husband and daughter have positive test results. They tested positive on Wednesday after having symptoms from Monday. They have to isolate for ten days from the onset of symptoms (Monday) and I and t he test of the household have to isolate for 14 days from the same day. That, I understand. However, my son now has a cough so I ordered an online test. His symptoms started Wednesday evening and I ordered the test then.
If he then tests positive, does that mean my husband and daughter, who are positive, will then have to isolate for an extra 4 days? If that's the case, surely it's better for others in the household not to test as they're already isolating for a longer period anyway. All another positive result will mean is that the current positives have to isolate for longer.

No their times are not extended as they have the virus already. Once their 10 days are done they can stop isolating unless they still have a high temperature (need to be clear of that for 48 hours)
