Do you think it will it be like in the summer with furloughed people on 80% of their salary?

This is what i need to know! The new scheme wont cover a lockdown because it demands a certain number of hours to be worked

Oblomov20 · 31/10/2020 09:16

The new scheme has 'open' and 'closed' rules.

@Oblomov20

The new scheme has 'open' and 'closed' rules.
Which the government will be able to circumvent in some cases. Tell pubs cafes and restaurants they can stay open but can’t serve alcohols or people who dine in.

Not shut so don’t have to pay them. Ignore the fact their business is destroyed and say but we put our arms around business

I work in an essential service that has to stay open so can’t claim the shut furlough scheme, but the workload will be slashed during a lockdown.most of the staff won’t be needed but the new scheme means they will have to do some hours to claim furlough . New scheme just isn’t practical for a lockdown situation

I am a waitress in a restaurant that will go to takeaway only, so my workplace will technically be open but there won't be a job for me to do. So I'm fucked Sad

Does a company need to give 4week redundancy notice ? Can they just not pay us at the end of nov if there is no work through November ,? but then work will return to Normal after 4 weeks of lockdown ?
