Eczema and masks

My face looks awful, read raw where I've been wearing a mask so I can take DC to soft play and other activities. I'm moisturising loads but I think I need another mask maybe a different material?!

Has any else had this? And found a solution?

My son, aged 12, has eczema. He is using mostly silk masks (about £4 off etsy) in the corridor at school and is fine with that. He also has a soft cotton one.

Thank you, hadnt considered silk! I have a cotton one, for a 5 minute run around a supermarket its OK but a few hours ins soft play and my skin is just red raw. Will give the silk a go!!

is it where the seams are? are they rubbing?

I get very bad excema but haven't had a problem with the cotton ones I have made. Could the moisturiser be making it worse as the skin is getting damp from condensation? Just trying to think of possible things you might not have considered yet.

If the ones you have have a gap to put a filter in and moisure might actually be the problem then could you try cutting up thin flannels to put in as a filter - it would absorb the moisture. I do this with mine to avoid my glasses steaming up so much but perhaps that is why I haven't had a problem?

I only moisturise when I've not got to wear one again but the seams are definitely the most affected areas.

I will look into getting one with a filter so I can try that. Thank you!!!

if it is the seams - could you wear it inside out?

Its everywhere which is sore (honestly, I look a mess!) But where the seams are is worse so I'll give it a go but not sure it will help, thank you for the idea though Smile
