Hey guys, I hope you’re all well! I have a confirmed case of coronavirus, which I think is getting better now. Anyone else experienced similar symptoms? What symptoms did you guys have if tested positive?

Days 1-3: sore throat. No cough, but it hurt quite a bit to swallow. I had no cough at all, and still don’t, thankfully.

Day 4: sore throat improved, but I started to get a fever. Temperature was around 37.8-38 at this point. Not much more.

Day 5-8: sore throat went away. At this point I completely lost my sense of smell and taste. Around day 6. Temperature spiked, and it was my worst symptom. I was taking medicine every 4 hours because my fever kept returning. I was always tired, falling asleep at weird hours. I had a high temperature. Sinus pain started too, congestion, my nose was blocked fully. Steam helped a bit. My forehead, jaws, eyes, teeth, cheeks, everything hurt badly. Also, on day 6 my left ear became clogged and it’s so uncomfortable. Tested on day 6 or 7, late I know.

Day 9: blocked nose, sinus pain, fever lessened very slightly. My smell was starting to return in my left nostril only. Still couldn’t taste anything, which was so weird!

Day 10: sense of smell coming back, fever lessened, congestion is still here but less too. Fever around 37.5. Test results took ages to come but received my positive coronavirus test result on day 10.

Day 11: today! Sense of smell and taste are back, thankfully! Taste isn’t the same as before but it’s returning. I can now smell from both nostrils. Fever has lessened. Headache and sinus pain is less today too but that might be because I’ve been taking steam more today?

I know it says in the NHS guidelines to self isolate for 10 days if tested positive from start of symptoms, but I don’t want to take any risks by stopping. I’m feeling a lot better today, compared to how I was feeling in the last few days, especially my fever, smell and taste. But what do you guys think? How long do I need to self isolate for?

@dreamerkr I tested positive today. I've had a cough for weeks and was asked to come in by my GP yesterday as a chest xray I had last week showed I had pneumonia. She said my temperature was slightly raised and asked me to get tested. I had a negative test when the cough started. I've also lost my sense of taste and smell but the taste might be related to the antibiotics I'm on.

I haven't been contacted by test and protect yet but the GP said yesterday that I should isolate for minimum of 10 days from symptoms/postive test and if the fever continued after 10 days then I need to be fever free for 48 hours before I came out of isolation.

Glad to hear you are on the mend.

@AnneShirleysNewDress when did your symptoms start? I hope you feel better soon! It really sucks, doesn’t it?

@dreamerkr I had a raised temperature at the GP yesterday although I hadn't noticed it myself. Woke up this morning and noticed I couldn't taste or smell anything then got the positive result at lunchtime today.

@dreamerkr and yes, it really sucks.

Hope you feel better soon.

DH is on day 2 of a really sore throat and aching everywhere, no cough and no temp but feeling rubbish and exhausted too. He's got a test coming hopefully tomorrow. We didn't think it would be Covid but now I'm starting to wonder, having read your symptoms.
