....cases in dd2's nursery (though not her bubble). Have booked a test for tomorrow and we'll isolate. Helpline said if it wasn't for nursery cases we could wait but need to get test. Anyone had similar? Has your toddler had fever after flu nasal spray?

Yes, every previous year. Which is why I nearly didn’t consent to it this year. Fortunately for whatever reason this year she had no reaction at all.

My 2 year old just had flu vaccine and we were told by nurse that if she gets temperature within 5 days we could assume vaccine and not need to get covid test.

interesting @Triangularbubble my 8yo has never had a reaction. Am almost sure thats what it is but feel like it would be irresponsible not to test/ isolate with cases at nursery grrr

But she has actually already had a covid test recently... it wasn't too bad, nostrils only. Good luck.

Yes, dc3 has had temp every year, including this year, after the spray. Lasted a few days.

Maxtry · 25/10/2020 00:00

@Scottishgirl85 I would have thought that too..bummer if timing as its coincided with possible exposure

The guidance I got work (NHS nurse administering flu vacc in Scotland) was post flu vaccination fever is normally occurring in the first 48 hours post innoculation. New
onset fever after that should be considered a potential symptom for Covid testing.

Maxtry · 25/10/2020 00:02

Thanks everyone....maybe should have waited. So hard to decide just now!

thanks @jazzthedog yes I am almost sure thats what it 8s. Couldn't make it up that it coincides with covid being in nursery for first time. AM reassured that thats your advice!

At least acting now if it is positive you'll know all the sooner. Hope she's well.
