Pubs / Bars - Pessimism

I follow a number of my favourite pubs/bars on Facebook. When they closed in March for the lockdown their posts were really positive - i.e. we'll see everyone on the other side, this is just an interruption, etc.

Been on today, just before we go to Tier 3 and the tone is completely different. Resigned, defeated, a general air that they might not come through this. Really sad as most have complied with all the rules, acted sensibly, and are viable businesses with employees. I really hope they can come through it but I'm not confident.

Industry they need to do something fucking quick to save all this .. ok for the misters and Vallance to say lock down but they have millions

I’ve thought this too. I also feel for them as they’ve put a lot of time and money into changing things around to try to become covid-secure. Very hard times for many.
