I felt unwell Sunday, as if I was getting a chest infection, and woke up Monday morning with a sore throat and slightly raised temperature. I don't have a cough or loss of smell/taste however had a test and received a positive result today.
I'm a single mum to a 4 month old and now have to isolate for 10 days. I am so worried about passing it on to my baby, or that I already have. She doesn't have any symptoms but I can't help feeling very anxious about it. There's nothing I can really do - I know my mum would care for her for me, but then I'd obviously be worried that if my baby has it she could pass it to my mum.
Please can I ask what others would do in my situation?

I have been thinking about this and think I would continue to care for dc (as long as I wasn't too sick too) but taking precautions- e.g. ventilation, hand washing, cleaning, probably wearing medical mask when caring for dc. I would still cuddle them but try not to breathe all over them. Try and reduce the viral load as much as possible.

I hope you don't get it too bad and your dd will be OK. Babies and children seem least affected.

Hoping you have a speedy recovery!

Get well soon. FlowersFlowers

Many many people experience a sore throat and test positive (no cough). Annoying it as seems so common but not common enough to be a main symptom.

Hope you’re ok @HL123 x

This really. Not with covid but this happened twice to me. First time me and DH had noro. Endless hand washing & wearing gloves when feeding her etx and our DD1 did not get it. I was amazed. Then we had a very prem baby. From Sept - Dec when she was still pre term we all had the usual winter colds . Again, absolutely scrupulous hand washing etc...she didn't get a cold until Xmas and we had all had 3 already.

I’d honestly not worry too much about your little one. Sleep when she naps and take it easy for the next little while and I guess it’s good she’s not able to know any better about being in self isolation. My dd is 24 weeks pregnant And a single parent with covid and a two year old spitfire who is a nightmare! So we’ve got an extended household situation and extra corona cases as a result 😬
