Track and trace

Has anyone been called by track and trace after testing positive? I ask because I’ve had contact with someone who tested positive within 48 hours which definitely falls within definition of a contact but track and trace have cleared it. So now have ethical dilemma of whether I should isolate anyway.

Did you spend more than 15 mins within a metre of them without any ppe?
I had similar. Saw someone 49.5hrs before they developed symptoms so not contacted but had spent all eve with them at the pub so decided to isolate anyway, but am lucky that I could.

So your contact told Track and Trace that they'd been in close contact with you in the 48hrs before their symptoms started, and gave them your details?
And you haven't been contacted?

Yeah and it’s timing would have been between about 46 and 50 hours before they developed symptoms

Track and trace said didn’t need details so I won’t be contacted.

It all just seems a bit random, doesn't it.
There's no way they can be certain that the virus never takes more than 48hrs to start showing symptoms.
There's another thread here where someone is pretty sure she knows when she got it and again it was over the 48hr threshold: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4053589-A-positive-test-my-journey-so-far

Maybe see how you feel in a couple of days and get a test if you think you need too.
Interestingly, on that thread I mentioned there are people who tested positive but have only had cold symptoms, not the Covid ones that they tell us to look out for...

I think I only get a test if I show symptoms. My dilemma is more whether I should isolate. It was at work and someone else told me when they tested positive they were specifically told not to include colleagues. How true that is I don’t know.

If it was me, I'd isolate but it's pretty easy for me to do that.
I think the 48hr threshold isn't long enough....
