corruption and contracts

I was reading a thread yesterday about the government awarding Covid related contracts to cronies and dodgy companies. I can't find it now. I have just been listening to Helena Kennedy on "Politics Live" and she has just made a very concise statement summarising exactly this issue.
I hope there will be a public inquiry into this. She went so far as to say that the £millions profits should be given back to local authorities, not given to shareholders.
I hope her comments are published and shared widely.

Unfortunately, it seems the public don't care enough. There was plenty of evidence of corruption and lies of Johnson and his cronies before the election yet they were still voted in.

Totally agree - after this fiasco there needs to be a full investigation into everything, how it’s been handled, spending, media outlets brainwashing and scaremongering. It’s absolutely disgusting

There won't be, well not a full one ..even if there is a public enquiry it will have terms of reference that are tighter than a ducks back end to ensure no blame gets anywhere near Boris and his mates.

I think I read somewhere that the mp in charge of anti corruption is Dido Harding's husband.
There may well be an inquiry but whether it will be an honest and open one is another matter.
Personally I think lots of this government need to pay back the money they have made and siphoned off to their mates AND serve jail time.
But I can't see that happening. I really wish we had an honest and competent government in this time of crisis, instead of the slimy self serving shit show we have

I found the thread. It goes into more detail about some of these contracts.
