Isolating because friend has a cough?

So, am trying to understand the guidelines ... maybe someone can clarify?

I was away with said friend from Thursday until Saturday. Masks worn, social distancing etc all adhered to.

Last night she developed a cough and her employer told her to get a test which she has just done.

I have no symptoms so presume I don’t isolate unless she’s positive?

Yes, correct

No you only isolate if she's positive, unless you live with her, then you'd need to isolate too.

MoirasRoses · 19/10/2020 12:56

Nope, you don’t need too unless she tests positive.

Thanks all! I was doubting myself!

Yes, you don’t have to isolate unless she gets a positive test, but it would be best if you could be careful around anyone vulnerable, just in case.

We’re you a close contact I.e less than 2m apart for 15 minutes or more? Your op says you were away with her but social distancing kept to. If you weren’t a close contact you don’t need to isolate regardless of test result.

Raccoon - we were sharing an Airbnb but separate bedrooms, out and about together but masks where needed.

Her test came back negative 👍😁
