Can Newcastle University students travel home to Lincoln for the next weekend?

I’d say no, they shouldn’t. Newcastle is tier 2, so people can’t meet those from another household indoors: you’d be combining two households. Non essential travel is also against guidance.

This question has been asked a number of times before- are you hoping for a better answer!

And yet the Times today said if you live in London (tier two) you can go to Cornwall on holiday!

It is possible that the holiday section was printed before London went into tier two.

But you couldn’t go to Cornwall and meet another household indoors...

I certainly would never be stopping my DC from coming home whatever the rules state.
