Test and Trace - contact times

Anyone who has been notified of the need to isolate due to being in close contact with a confirmed case, how quickly did T@T get in touch with you? Someone had their positive result this evening, how quickly should T@T be in touch to let me know if I need to isolate?

I know people that knew they were with an infected person so isolated but didn't actually get contacted by track and trace for 5 days. I also know someone who tested positive and never got contacted by track and trace..

T and at didn’t call my dd for 30 hours after her positive result so they can’t have contacted any of her contacts til then.
My friend got contacted on Wednesday about being somewhere on the Sunday. She is now self isolating despite being in the same place which was outdoors at a cafe restaurant with indoor and outdoor options. I found that odd that being outdoors would be seen as high enough risk to self isolate.

Thank you for the replies, did all the people who were contacted by T&T have the app on the phone or does the NHS contact you even if you don't have the app?

8 days! Got contacted on Thursday from a contact with a positive person at 1am on 7th October...

A kid in my class was sent home on the Friday due to T&T telling the family that they'd had contact the weekend before. This was pre -app.

Ideally it would be very quick, like a child testing on the Tues this week and the whole yeargroup being told first thing on the Wed morning not to go in to school due to the positive result.

BUT....some people dither over whether their symptoms deserve a test, some test results come back too slowly (we had results in 12 hours, yet some have waited 4 days round here) and there's a window of 2 days prior to the person being +ve that will still trigger the news that a contact has to isolate.

All that resulted in a school round here telling a yeargroupt to isolate for a week as the first week of isolation time had been spent still going to school. For whatever reason, the kid had symptoms Sun (which would mean Fri could have been contagious) and yet their result and the school finding out didn't happen til the following Fri.

If you know you could have been in contact 2 days before they started getting symptoms then isolate.

I think if i knew I'd been in close contact with a pisitive case i would isolate even if trace and track had not been in touch yet.

I know one town/city in Englabd set up their own local one. It's working much more efficiently I believe.

I have the app and my husband had a positive test result just before midnight on Friday. As soon as he started filling in track and trace info on the link he receives I got an email within 30 mins. No phone call and nothing shows on my app. It briefly alerted me that an exposure was being checked then told me I was at no risk!

I'm in the same situation. My friend has tested positive tonight. I went out for a meal with her on tuesday, she started with symptoms on Thursday so I guess I need to isolate until a week on tuesday but I'm not holding my breath for t&t getting in touch.

I received an email telling me to self isolate ds1 on day 10. He only had to self isolate for four days. But that was when test were hard to get tested (it still might or might not be the case).

I got a positive test at 6pm yesterday
At 8am the test and trace link was sent by text
Filled it in my 9am
My named contacts got a text and email within 2 minutes (I know as they were my children)

T&T will only get in touch if they named you and provided the details.
