Neighbour having constant parties

ReginaaPhalange · 17/10/2020 13:52

Neighbour who lives behind me has a pub/cabin in their garden. Today there is at least 9 people from different households in there watching football and drinking.

They do this all the time - every weekend and it is beginning me frustrate me.

Would you ignore it or call 101?

People have been like this where I live. Hot tub parties every weekend, don't seem to care.

You did the right thing reporting, you could possibly bat and eyelid to a one off, but weekly is ridiculous

ReginaaPhalange · 18/10/2020 00:37

@DeliciouslyFemale I think so, but more people have turned up!

OP posts:

On one hand, noisy people wind me up intensely but, on the other, good on them for defying the lockdown.
So I 'd just ask them to keep the noise down. They should get the message.

bengalcat · 18/10/2020 06:34

I’d probably ignore and definitely stay well away from said neighbour .

DameFanny · 18/10/2020 09:56

@bengalcat

I’d probably ignore and definitely stay well away from said neighbour .
But that's how said neighbour passes the infection they picked up from a guest to the nice chap in the corner store who passes it to the older neighbour you keep an eye on from time to time who passes it to you. And you don't get it badly, but the older neighbour has taken it into hospital where they're down 34 nurses due to both active infections and exposure-isolations and even if she makes it through she won't be right for months.

Do you remember seeing that graphic where someone touches a raw chicken and then the bacteria gets transferred all over the kitchen? That's party-neighbour, only it's not her kitchen, it's wherever her guests - and their contacts - go.

When I read posts like yours, DameFanny, I really wish there was a ‘like’ button. 👏🏻

wasthataburp · 18/10/2020 10:17

Absolutely not. Who are you to say who people can and cannot see in their own home / garden. It's none of your business or anyone else's including the govt

DameFanny · 18/10/2020 10:25

Blush @DeliciouslyFemale

PetitFours · 18/10/2020 10:25

If the noise was excessive and it happened repeatedly I'd be tempted to report to environmental health. Otherwise I'd just ignore it to be honest.

TiddyTid · 18/10/2020 14:52

And who are you to decide, by your lax attitude, that me and my family should have to tolerate the extra risk because other people cannot follow the rules which are there to balance risk to allow businesses to stay open and children get their education.

When they shut the schools again and we all go back into isolation, remember you posted this.

OpheliasCrayon · 18/10/2020 15:41

Ignore it. You do you. Leave them alone

Torvean32 · 18/10/2020 15:42

Absolutely report it.

@rslsys I've seen that a few times recently and it annoys the hell out of me. I have been doing everything according to the rules since March so it won't be my fault I can't get together with family at Christmas. I don't say this lightly - it will be the fault of our hopeless government. They don't have a clue and we all made sacrifices to buy them time to get their act together and they squandered it. The shit hit the fan when they abandoned testing in March and then they handed track and trace over to their mates instead of putting it in the hands of local public health officials. I've never been so disgusted and disillusioned.

All of this. Privatised testing and tracing (which they still try to call 'NHS' to get us disgusted with the people who could actually do this properly) had just taken billions out of the economy and let the infection rates soar again.

Some day I hope there'll be an accounting for this criminal conspiracy of a Cabinet.

I will remember it and I will stand by it.

Absolutely agree with you. Had enough of this shit. All the govt predictions have been wrong. Everyone is sick of it and the ridiculous rules

Fawnfour · 24/10/2020 21:52

Definitely Report them, selfish people

Marmozet · 24/10/2020 22:21

Have the police arrived yet?

Msmcc1212 · 24/10/2020 22:34

Well done OP. Hard to do but the right thing and you may well save lives as a result.

I was just reading another thread about frontline NHS staff and it’s grim reading.

We all need to do what we can to slow the spread to give us all the best chance of keeping some sort of NHS service and not having even tighter restrictions over winter.

To get more freedom we have to tolerate sporadic losses of freedom. It’s not ideology, it’s just basic numbers and trying to meet our basic human need for physical safety.
