Hi,

I am so sorry this might be deemed as a “stupid” question, but I genuinely don’t know what to do.

Picked 4 year old up from school yesterday, he looked really off colour and had a runny nose and complained of a sore throat and generally just couldn’t be bothered to do anything.

He’s woke up this morning with a really bad cough and sore throat. He’s had one spoonful of breakfast and said he’s not hungry.

Am I right to ring up for a test? He literally just had one 3 weeks ago and we had to isolate. I’m at a point where I’m starting to question myself whether it just a common cold and letting it run it’s course but then does every cold warrant a test?

Sorry again for the probably stupid question xx

Yes you need a test. The quicker you do it, the quicker you get results and the less time you need to isolate.

Lethargy and a cough. Sorry, it’s testing time again Sad

Yep, test.

GreatBigBeautifulTommorow · 17/10/2020 09:47

Yep test and household isolation.

Hope he feels better soon Flowers

I agree. The coughing necessitates a test and isolation. You do not know it is a cold.

The runny nose probably does mean it isn't covid though. It is not a covid symptom.
