Is it a complete loss of taste/smell that counts as a symptom or is it just if they are effected.

I have cold symptoms, sore throat and runny nose.. but I'm loosing my sense of taste/smell.. but that's pretty standard with a cold my nose is blocked and I have sinus pain.. I can taste things just not strongly like normal.. usually I can smell my toddler a mile away but today I didn't realise he needed changing until he came up to me.

I have no cough, no temp.. I'm on maternity leave so I don't really leave the house anyway but should I play it safe and isolate everyone and get tested or not?

I know it may sound silly but it really worries me with having a newborn and I'd hate to put others at risk.

The loss of taste and smell is more neurological with Covid, not due to being ‘bunged up’
I had the same as you and when I developed a cough I got a test.
There seem to be a lot of horrible bugs going around at the moment!
