Hello fellow Lancashire-Ian's!
Not going to lie... I was a bit surprised to hear the whole county has jumped to tier 3 😩
Just a little thread for support ❤️

Is all of Lancashire going into tier 3 I am in the lighter red and saw this today. But my town has been on sky news this morning so think it is.

If you go on the Govt website and put your post code in, it will tell you what tier you are in and tell you all the rules for that tier.

Rollerbird · 16/10/2020 13:35

Im in tier 3 and gutted that Liverpool Region has to have gyms closed and Lancashire doesn't 🤷‍♂️

Risotto4tea · 16/10/2020 13:38

We cant go on holiday now. I could cry - I know there are bigger problems. But I've worked so hard this yr and just wanted some fun time with the kids, was given hope 2 days ago that we would be able to go and now we cant

Could you rent a cottage in Lancashire and go with the family?

This crossed my mind but are all overnight stays not allowed now even if we stay in area?
Sadless · 16/10/2020 14:34

Are people in the tier 3 level still allowed to meet with other outside of there house or is it the same as tier 2. I have put the post code in and its still says 12th of this month so hasn't been updated yet.

QueenOllie · 16/10/2020 14:41

@Sadless no, tier 3 can't mix in or out

november90 · 16/10/2020 14:49

See I saw this document and it suggests you can still meet in a park/garden setting?

I’m confused because the north overnight stays’ is guidance, not law.

Do you really think people who have foreign holidays booked are not going to go? As far as I can tell, people going abroad are still going abroad, people staying in the uk are cancelling. How is that logical??

notevenat20 · 16/10/2020 14:58

I am not 100% sure but the easiest way to tell is to see if any cottages are still available. I think it should be ok as you will not be mixing with any other people.

QueenOllie · 16/10/2020 14:59

Found and copied

Unlike Tier 2, you must not meet with people outside of your household/support bubble in a private garden 'or in most outdoor public venues'.
This suggests you shouldn't meet those not in your household at an outdoor seating area at a restaurant or pub beer garden.
However you can continue to see people you don't live with in groups of six or less in the following outdoor places:
• parks, beaches, countryside, forests
• public gardens (whether or not you pay to enter them), allotments
• outdoor sports courts and facilities, and playgrounds

I guess one way to look at it is that the UK govt is not responsible for keeping other countries safe, just the UK. You may have to quarantine on your return of course.

movingonup20 · 16/10/2020 15:02

Just remember Leicester had worse restrictions on far lower numbers and have never come out of enhanced restrictions.

LadyCatStark · 16/10/2020 15:07

Where’s that map from @Sadless because the BBC website says Wyre is on 208/ 100000.

I’m so fed up of all this 😢

Drivingbuttercup · 16/10/2020 15:22

Im now in tier 3 restriction. None of this will work without proper test and trace. It's taking a week to get results back, by then the virus has moved on.

I havent seen family since the beginning of August and my daughter's bubble has closed twice. How much longer are we supposed to go on like this.

Sadless · 16/10/2020 16:24

The map was on the sun this morning.

Sal

LadyCatStark · 16/10/2020 16:54

@Sadless it’s not helpful if they can’t even agree on how many cases there are 🙈

I also think the amount of notice we’ve been given is unfair, London has known for a few days now that they’re going into tier 2 at midnight yet we’ve been given a few hours notice! Has there even been an official announcement yet?

Figmentofimagination · 16/10/2020 17:04

🙋🏻‍♀️ Blackpool here. I don't understand how we can jump from tier 2 to tier 3 so quickly. They only just decided we were tier 2 at the beginning of the week. Numbers haven't escalated that quickly.

Or are they trying to do this to keep tourists out of the area by scaring them away? As it's recommended that you don't stay overnight in a tier 3 area yet the b&bs can still stay open.

Saucery · 16/10/2020 17:08

It’s all to do with the financial package offered the county as a whole. Tory LCC wanted that 42 million and so there’s no differentiation, rhyme or reason to a blanket Tier 3.

Tanfastic · 16/10/2020 19:00

It's not law just advisory. We are supposed to be going next week to a caravan in the middle of nowhere just our support bubble. We have asked the caravan site and they are happy for us to still go. So we are going. Don't shoot me!
LadyCatStark · 16/10/2020 19:06

Sky news have different figures again...

I think the S*n have confused us with Blackpool as they’re shown to have exactly the same figures.

flissity · 16/10/2020 19:22

Will follow this as supposed to go on holiday to cottage which is about 7 miles outside of a tier 3 area into a tier 1!

Are you going?
JaceLancs · 16/10/2020 22:04

Tier 3 here in Lancashire - fairly obvious from my username
District where I live is 200+ cases per 100000
Not much has changed for me really - I don’t go to pubs unless occasionally to eat, gym and hair and beauty still open
We went back to office a few months ago when we were encouraged to do so and will not be WFH again unless it is made law that we must
We are going back to office rotas though, so that less people will be in together at any one point, we all are able to stay 2m apart and in most cases have 1 person in a room at a time and chat across the corridor if we need to
I can’t go and visit DM in hospital or go to friends houses but will meet in car parks etc
Tonight I went to supermarket on way home from work and bumped into a friend I haven’t seen in person since February, 5 minutes later saw DD down the fruit and veg aisle
There’s always costa drive through where we can grab a drink then drive to local beauty spot nearby and park next to a friend - sit in our own cars in comfort with windows down and catch up over coffee
