Children Travelling Between Areas

My Children travel from a Tier 2 area with me to a Tier 1 with their Father. People from Tier 2 aren't meant to mix with those in other areas. I know they can still travel between Parents but what rules should they be observing when with him?

When they are with him I would class it as they're living with him at that time so would follow the tier 1 rules.
I could be wrong but thats how I would interpret it.

I’m in the same position, or slightly worse. We’re in tier 2 and he’s in 3. I’m taking child contact as an accepted reason to travel though. It’s always been allowed, even in full lockdown.

Sorry, I misread the question. Technically you are supposed to follow the rules of where you live but it depends on the age of the kids. No-one’s going to report a child following their fathers rules.
