Who is right? Isolation period

Please help settle this for me. Staff member tests positive for virus, small team. Track and trace contact 5 members of team saying to isolate for 10 days. Due to nature of work those 5 staff have now had tests and all negative.
Dh thinks they can return to work as negative tests, I believe they have to do isolation period as dictated by track and trace incase they are incubating virus. Any idea?

Yep. Your DH May be confused because if you get a test due to symptoms and have NOT been in contact with a case, you can stop isolating if negative.

It depends on why you are isolating:

Contact - you could be in incubation period- negative test doesn't change that

Symptoms but no contact - if the symptoms were covid you would test positive- negative test means no further reason to think you have it

You can get false negatives on a symptomatic people, so you have to self isolate for the full time

@SkittyKat

They have to isolate. Having a negative test does not negate the need to self isolate.
