Pre-appointment screening questionnaires

I've filled a couple of these out lately. I understand why they ask about the main covid symptoms, but why do they ask about other symptoms like colds, nausea, loss of appetite etc?

Does it make any difference? Especially when someone with covid could just as easily be symptom free.

Data gathering. That is how they keep adding symptoms to the existing list in NHS. Also if there are vulnerable people in the place you are going then they would still avoid people with other symptoms.
