Help- Self Isolating and in pain with toothache

Can anyone give some advice. I had a filling fall out just before lockdown and then couldn’t get it replaced. I am now in a lot of pain, my face is swollen. I would ask for an emergency appointment today but I am self-isolating.
Can I get antibiotics delivered?
Is there something I can use at home to ease the pain? Paracetamol isn’t doing much.

You can get a temporary filling from a pharmacy, and the dentist can send a prescription (antibiotics if needed and stronger painkillers) to the same pharmacy, you just need the code on the prescription and you can get it from anywhere, do you have a friend who can pick it up for you?

Also our pharmacy will deliver if you're isolating
Hope you can get sorted today

Thanks @MissSmiley. I have had a bad night and and feeling a bit desperate. The idea that pain relief is a few hours away makes it more bareable.

Phone your dentist. Or any dentist. At the very least they should write a prescription and some one can collect it for you, get it dispensed and put it through your letter box.

A friend of mine is a dentist and they are doing phone calls to triage each morning, they are seeing people who need it but antibiotics might help until your isolation is over, and definitely ask for stronger painkillers

Thanks @bonzo77. I hadn’t thought of that. To be honest I have earache and toothache and haven’t slept so thought is tough. I am glad to have friendly voices out there giving advice.

How long have you got left to isolate?
Definitely try to get anti biotics. Do you have someone who can collect them for you ASAP?

Yetiyoga · 13/10/2020 07:31

Oh and I'm sorry to hear you are in so much pain. And hope it eases soon.

You poor thing. That sounds awful. Def phone your dentist ASAP to get advice. You can’t stay like that. Good luck!

There are hot hubs who can see Covid positive patients who are in pain- usually dental hospitals.

Thanks

I talked to the dentist and now have antibiotics. I have had a tough day as the positive case at home has had a bad day and I am in pain. However you were brilliant. Thanks
