Do we need to continue to isolate?

4 people showed symptoms (within 2 days of each other).

3 tests have come back negative.

4th test result hasn't arrived back yet.

Do the 3 need to isolate still?

Yes, if they're all one household.

mineofuselessinformation · 12/10/2020 20:27

No, but they do need to distance from the other person, so if that's not possible, isolation needs to continue (is my understanding anyway).

Todaythiscouldbe · 12/10/2020 20:32

No, not unless you are all one household. Only the person who hasn't had a result yet needs to isolate.

dementedpixie · 12/10/2020 20:33

Are they all from one household? If so, they continue to isolate until all results are in

PurpleDaisies · 12/10/2020 20:33

Are you one household?

Augustbreeze · 12/10/2020 20:39

Think about it, the fourth test just might come back positive.... so you have to isolate!

ThatDamnScientist · 12/10/2020 21:02

Thank you everyone. Yes, we are one household. I know it's straightforward but ended up tying myself in knots Blush

So (forgive the stupid questions!), it is 14 days if we don't receive the final result ?(we have had tests lost in the past but they were ZOE tests with no symptoms. These results have arrived in dribs and drabs.

It's so complicated isn't it. Number 4 might be positive and might have given it to you all after you tested or you might all just have a cold.

I think I'd isolate everyone for the longest period of either 14 days after the last person (1-3) got symptoms or when 4 got symptoms.

Passthebubbly · 12/10/2020 21:40

Exact same position here. Same household first 3 of us tested negative my husband then tested positive. So glad we isolated until all results were in. He now isolates 10 days the rest of us 14 days

Passthebubbly · 12/10/2020 21:42

So to clarify all results came at different times today, positive husband is isolating until 20th due to when symptoms started me and kids are negative but isolating until 24th

Well the last one came just after I last posted, negative fortunately. Thank you all for your patient answers! Grin

However, now turns out a class bubble has burst whilst we were off so need to find out if dc needs to also isolate with not being there (only just received a group text)...I feel the need for wine!

@Passthebubbly Hope he isn't too bad and is feeling better soon.

Aww never rains but it pours. Hope kiddo is fine. My dh has sore head and neck but other than that ok for now. Loving isolating in a room whilst I do everything 😂
