So will pubs and restaurants have to check everyone who enters - to make sure they are not sitting with someone who is not from their household?

I’m in Wales, so this has already been introduced for us. We just ask when people ring up to book ‘we just have to check that you’re all from the same household?’ We then note on the booking system that we asked and they confirmed. That way we have proof we’ve done our part and have covered ourselves. We’ve already had a couple of police spot checks courtesy calls. They’ve just dropped in and asked us a number of chatty questions, making sure we’re aware of all the new restrictions covering us.
