@Sunshineandflipflops

Can I just ask those in tier 2 a question please? My partner lives in Notts, so is also tier 2. He lives alone, I live with my 2 kids an hour away. Can I still see him as his support bubble (if he’s not seeing anyone else)? I worry about him being alone as he has mental and physical health issues. I have read conflicting advice around whether support bubbles can still meet indoors as one household so hoping someone else can shed some wisdom!
If you are both in a tier 2 area, as far as I'm aware you can bubble up with another adult as long as they live alone (eg we've bubbled up with MIL) You can't swap and change who you bubble with though, you both have to be consistent and stick with each other. They're then treated as one of your household members so you can meet inside/outdoors.

  1. Hip fucking hooray. All outbreaks around here I'm aware of are linked to schools but office worker me, my non resident partner and my retired parents (Only child) are back under virtual house arrest.

Looking forward to it being extended on 11 November as schools and universities still being open means restrictions will make no difference to numbers just destroy loads of businesses as well as many people's mental and non-covid physical health. Amazing

Tier 1. Northamptonshire. Although we were being monitored as our cases were rising fast. Am relieved at the mo as my sis in law having her first baby in a few weeks and we really want to be able to see them. At a distance of course as we still would be super cautious

kittensarecute · 12/10/2020 23:37

Medium here (thank god). Thought we would be, cases are going up but are still very low. I wouldn't have coped with any tougher measures.

Pet8 · 12/10/2020 23:58

3 Sad

Buckwheat80 · 13/10/2020 00:15

Tier 2, surprisingly.

It seems they determine tour tier based on an algorithm that takes into account (a) whether your local mayor is a big hitter and (b) the extent to which your mayor goes nuts when the government tells him/her that you're going into Tier 3.

Itsabeautifuldayheyhey · 13/10/2020 02:28

Tier 2 - I'm pleased as I thought, from the press hysteria, that most of the country would be in the highest tier.

MiracletoCome · 13/10/2020 04:13

Tier 1, Northamptonshire, 76/100,000 where I am, its going up though.

toffeekiwi · 13/10/2020 05:22

1 but my family are 2 and 3

RosieLemonade · 13/10/2020 05:39

@AlwaysLatte

Thanks *@awesomeaircraft* We're not listed on there (Kent) so still none the wiser but the Covid app says 'medium' so I'm guessing tier 2. Rats!!!
Medium is tier 1. No low tier because of the high rate across the country.

I’m Surprised by the relaxing of social interaction in the 2 areas when some of the areas classified as 2 have a higher level of infection than us in a three area. The other day when I checked my town was 8th!

www.theguardian.com/world/2020/oct/11/covid-cases-and-deaths-today-coronavirus-uk-map

According to this my town is actually 11th yet t3 it is a bloody joke!

motherrunner · 13/10/2020 06:55

I’m a secondary school teacher so life as usual for me though!

cptartapp · 13/10/2020 07:19

Tier 2. Which means as a local hotspot previously under local lockdown we can now mix in gardens. Which we couldn't up until yesterday. And numbers are still rising Confused
Preston.

starfish4 · 13/10/2020 07:59

Tier 1, south west. Our case numbers have quadrupled over the last three weeks ago, despite minor restrictions so I'd rather be in TIer 2 and keep numbers down.

MarshaBradyo · 13/10/2020 07:59

Tier 1
Covid messenger has added it

CrunchyCarrot · 13/10/2020 09:18

Tier 1 (Worcestershire)

YessicaHaircut · 13/10/2020 09:28

Tier 1 here in Exeter. We were fully expecting to be Tier 2 as our figure is 345/100,000. However that is mainly among the students apparently so I guess it’s been decided that the rate must be much lower among the locals and general population of the city.

Anecdotally my sister and her 2 kids are currently isolating as the older child had direct contact a week ago with a TA at his Exeter primary school who has tested positive. So much for it not spreading in schools Sad

RosieLemonade · 13/10/2020 11:17

We were told we were on a high alert for a local lockdown but our numbers are really really low. Perhaps because we only have one hospital we will be locked down sooner than other places.

Tier 1 here. Case rate of 115/100,000. Our area had barely any cases in the first wave, but they’ve been rising fast lately.

I have to say I’m quite surprised to learn that for a lot of people who were already in local lockdowns, tier 2 means a relaxation of the rules on households mixing (outdoors). I can’t quite see the logic in that while cases are going up. Confused

Collidascope · 13/10/2020 11:59

3

Cocklepops · 13/10/2020 12:43

Difficult to say.

This morning Gov.uk is telling me High, whilst NHS Covid app is telling me Medium.

I’ve queried it 🤔

hellsbells99 · 13/10/2020 13:09

IHateCoronavirus that is rubbish. Wirral is about 30th on the list but in T3 too - madness

Sad madness indeed especially when there are so many t2 areas with less restrictions than what they had before!
RollaCola84 · 13/10/2020 13:17

@hellsbells99 - I'm in Sefton, we're on 423 compared to 609 in Liverpool and 657 in Knowsley. Yet we're all under the same restrictions, makes tonnes of sense.

Oh and Nottingham is 834.
