Cases per 100k

So what do cases have to get to per 100k for local lockdown rules? (I know there is this new tier thing happening, but in general would like to know what is classed as 'high' enough for restrictions)

I think the numbers/graphs thread keeps track.

We're on red alert, I think 140 per 100k and not on the government watchlist.

GreyishDays · 11/10/2020 11:26

I don’t think it’s been published. A couple of weeks ago there was speculation that the middle tier would be triggered at 100, but that could I have been wrong/out of date.

GreyishDays · 11/10/2020 11:27

Daily mail in other thread says this though

Thanks all.
According to that, I'm in red alert even though things are at about 70 per 100k.. grrr.

Is that app supposed to equate the different colours to the three tiers the government will be announcing tomorrow? If it does it means a very large area will be in the highest tier, surely they won’t close hospitality over that large an area?

NotAKaren · 11/10/2020 19:02

How does it work if you live close to a red alert area? Will people be able to travel from there a few miles away to go to pubs and restaurants? Also many will live, work or go to schools cris crossing different zones, I wonder how this will go. Confused

ChristmasCantComeSoonEnough · 11/10/2020 19:04

If it’s like the current local lockdown you will be able to cross for good reasons like work and school but not to go to the pub.

NotAKaren · 11/10/2020 20:05

I can't imagine there are the resources to monitor this.
