Would the schools problem be solved by masks

If all secondary school children wore masks all day and we only then sent home people who sat next to them at lunch if they got covid, would that solve most of the covid schools problem?

It's exactly what they do in France.

It is really interesting to hear how you have adapted. I have been constantly impressed by the way people in the arts have found imaginative ways to still do what we all love.

Walkaround
I have read the thread.
I disagree with you.
Give it a rest.

@Lolaloveslemonade - except we both agree that “sporty types” are not “lesser human beings” and that if you are going to tell someone that this is the somewhat offensive way you choose to interpret their posts, you should make sure you have understood the context and still think this is what they were saying. I’m sorry you think look down on people who are physically superior to my children !

Don't get cross with me but I heard that masks are no use. I don't know why. I heard it at the begging of covid.😕

@mallow2050 - they are now thought to provide some protection both from and for the wearer, so WHO advice has changed. I think the problem is, there is too little public guidance on their use, so many people don’t take it seriously, and filthy, ill fitting masks made of all sorts of random materials, and which people constantly fiddle with, are going to be considerably less effective than some people hope! Also, prolonging the contact with nose and mouth with a dirty, damp mask, will cause other issues in itself (eg in the US, links with more rapid tooth decay and bacterial skin conditions). If people are to be expected to wear masks for hours at a time outside of medical settings, I think more effective guidance is required!
