Testing for pupils at independent school

DD told me today her friend has a friend (I know!) at an independent school, where the school gives each pupil £50 if they have a Covid test, and then £25 for any subsequent tests.

I assume this means a reduction in fees of £50 for the first test/self isolation and £25 for subsequent tests/ isolations.

I think it's actually quite a clever idea. Is this the norm for fee paying schools?

No, I think something has probably been garbled along no the way

Are you sure it’s not the study that does weekly testing? Two families I know are doing it who live on the same road, they get paid the same amounts as in your post , so one comes around once a week and test them

Ah, that would make sense: "My friend who goes to X school gets paid for each test..."

I overheard - a coupe talking about how they get paid to be tested DH also received a letter to participate but didn't want to do it Angry

Yes the ONS study has those payments (in vouchers) for testing participants.
