Pregnant third trimester teachers

Hi all,
Just wondering how any of you fellow pregnant 3rd trimester Teachers are coping with the rising coronavirus cases? I’m a teacher and entering the third trimester next week. I know of some schools allowing staff to work from home but my school aren’t supporting that at the moment. I felt ok about it but now with cases escalating it feels more and more unsafe. Is anyone is a similar boat? What are your plans if any?
Thanks,

Hi I’m approaching my third trimester and I’m feeling really unsafe too! We’ve had two staff members who have had Covid-both were in school beginning of the week. I hoped I would be able to work from home at 28 weeks (now 23 weeks). My school are not supporting this either but my union have said that most schools are supporting their pregnant staff to work from home. They can help me and have suggested I ask for a second risk assessment and occupational health to be involved-the RA needs to be focussed on social distancing.
Anyone in a similar position? I’m getting myself really stressed as to be honest I don’t want to be at school with Covid now, let alone in my third trimester.
I’m considering taking early maternity or calling in sick. It seems unfair that because I’m unable to socially distance I have to put myself and baby at risk or go sick/early mat leave.

Hi Peach, thanks for your message. We've had a few cases of (staff) Covid in the last few days so feeling increasingly unsafe. This is interesting article which i extracted some facts for my Head teacher www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/08/why-pregnant-women-face-special-risks-covid-19
I enjoy being in school and it's actually a lot easier being in as we have to teach online at home but it's simply the safety thing now. I'm planning to have another meeting and hopefully we'll agree something concrete to move forward. Let me know how you get on. Good luck!
