Test and trace. Wtf?

Sorry if this has already been asked. I just received a notification on my phone saying I've been in close contact with someone who has tested positive. Gone in to the app, nothing there. No advice. No message to say I should be isolating. So, what does this mean? What's the point of this notification? Should I be isolating?
