Took my DS to his swimming lesson this evening.
Just as his class was starting, a lady came back to the parent viewing area with her child who had just had a lesson, to join her DP/DH watching their other child.
As she approached him, she said to him "you won't believe this, I've just had a text from school that reception class have to self isolate"
Her reception child was the child who had just had the lesson. She continued to stay and watch the swim lesson, while this child walked about the parent viewing area.
Should she not have gone home with that child, rather than sit there for another half hour talking to DP/DH about how this means "no school, no swimming lessons" etc for said child?

No because her child or children doesn’t necessarily have coronavirus and given the other child was in the water it was presumably already passed on, given the way the people on here think the virus is transmitted.

Yes but maybe she had no way of getting home?

The child was already there so I don't think taking them home half an hour early would make that much difference. The main thing would be, they should have gone straight home after the lesson and stuck to the isolation. That would be good enough for me I think.

Thanks for all your thoughts, it just made me think what do you do for the best

I'm going to disagree. Yes, I think assuming she and child had transport she should have left ASAP.

MasksGlovesSoapScrubs · 06/10/2020 23:22

I think she should of gone home.

notanoctopus · 06/10/2020 23:23

I think she should have left - waited outside for her lift if need be

I definitely felt strange about it, enough to write this post. It just didn't sit with me that a child who should now be self isolating was walking around in this room and they didn't seem to bat an eyelid?
