Self-isolation question (schools)

Those of you whose dc have had to isolate due to a confirmed case - were they told to isolate for a full 14 days or from the date of last contact? A few children in dc's classes have had to stay home for several days waiting for tests and results (all negative) and I'm wondering how this works....

Ours was 14 days from the date of the positive results

Ours is 14 days from last contact (and even then there was some flexibility based on the likely infectious period) but this was discussed on another thread recently and there was a mixture of the 2 scenarios being implemented in different schools.

Ours works from date of last contact.

From the date of last contact with the positive person. For us, that meant 7 days off.

We were notified yesterday of a positive case in my sons class (I think the test was returned positive on Saturday). The school said my son must isolate until the 19th October
