How many times have you had to isolate?

How many times have you had to isolate and/or test so far? Either from lockdown or from schools returning?

We're upto 3 times now since the end of August, and I'm not sure how much more I can take of it. It's just seemingly like a continuous nightmare. Are we just unlucky or have others been in a similar boat? Sad

I’m worried about jinxing it!

But once, in late March at the very start of school closures because DH had a temperature (& loss of taste/smell). Obviously no tests available & luckily he was fine after a couple of days. You were also allowed for walks if isolating then.

Ragwort · 05/10/2020 07:31

None and none.

Juliancantcope · 05/10/2020 07:32

Twice since schools went back ( negative both times) - DS2 catches everything and it always goes to his chest so I fear we’ll have to do it many times before winter is out.

GenericFemalePal · 05/10/2020 07:44

Isolate - once. Dd had a cough Friday, home test Saturday, negative result Monday, back at school Tuesday.

Test - three times (all Zoe app requests, all negative)

TheoneandObi · 05/10/2020 07:49

Twice. Until tests showed negative. So only for a handful of days.

Nifflerbowtruckle · 05/10/2020 07:51

Self isolated once due to housemate testing positive. I didn't catch it thankfully. I test every week due to working in a care home. I now know 8 people who have/had positive covid tests.

thisusernameismine · 05/10/2020 07:53

Waiting for second test for our family of 3. First test was about 2/3 weeks ago after a high temperature in my DD (negative). So will be first test for me and DH.

First time isolating now - been in close contact with a confirmed case (a good friend) and under house arrest until next week. It's shit.

happymummy12345 · 05/10/2020 07:55

None

teenagetantrums · 05/10/2020 07:58

Isolate none. Test every week due to working in care home.
I'm on holiday atm apparently 6people tested positive at work last week. I'm hoping that it will have run its course by the time l go back to work.

BlueTitsRock · 05/10/2020 08:00

no isolation and test though I had a child with a very heavy runny nose and a typical cold cough. I tried to get testest but could not get any. School did not send DC home either so we carried on. I cannot afford to isolate for 2 weeks because of lack of tests and the symptoms were more of a cold.

ImSleepingBeauty · 05/10/2020 08:03

Test once and therefore isolate while waiting for the results.
It was a horrendous experience and waiting for the results took 4 days.
We haven’t had to since as I’m not so quick now to reach for the thermometer.

ChasingRainbows19 · 05/10/2020 08:04

I work in a hospital with odd cases throughout . I’ve no kids and not had to isolate at all yet... expecting to but not happened. Not sure I’ll get through winter the same...

PurpleDaisies · 05/10/2020 08:07

One test for a new cough and I isolated for a day waiting for the results.

One test for the Zoe app.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 05/10/2020 08:13

None. Never needed a test, never needed to isolate, never been contacted by track and trace although I go to restaurants and days out regularly. No cases in DS's school.

Fairly low infection area, no local lockdown.

Meuniere · 05/10/2020 08:17

0 and 0.

This is despite been next door to one area on local lockdown.

CeeJay81 · 05/10/2020 08:18

No Isolation or no tests for any of us yet. Live in a rural area and no one at the school(both Primary and High school) has had a positive test yet. Let's hope it stays that way but we shall see.

tinseltitsandlittlegits · 05/10/2020 08:20

Once for the big lockdown and we are coming to the end of dd isolation due to her school bubble bursting 😫
It's bloody hard mentally!

BurningTheToast · 05/10/2020 08:21

No isolating and no tests.

But we live somewhere rural so fewer people and we're very careful because of DH's very elderly, very frail parents so that probably explains it.

Catrabbit75 · 05/10/2020 08:22

My 9 year old son is on his first 2-week quarantine stint, due to someone in his bubble testing positive. I had an email from my other sons college yesterday to say 2 people have tested positive there... so I’m guessing that will only be a matter of time until my other son has to quarantine..... I feel very very lucky to be working from home now

AdventCaroline · 05/10/2020 08:23

Isolate: 1, back in March.

Test: 0, you couldn't get a test in March.

We have been lucky since, I know plenty of people who have had to isolate.

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 05/10/2020 08:23

i have had two tests,
so i guess i was isolating while waiting for the result, ie about one day

TheGreatWave · 05/10/2020 08:25

Test back in May. Nothing since, working and 3 DC all in local lockdown areas. Not being reckless, but neither being overly cautious.

lughnasadh · 05/10/2020 08:29

Never, and that's with more than one school aged child, and both of us continuing to go out to work since the beginning.

Hollowtree3 · 05/10/2020 08:33

once. now. it is a nightmare. Think you are very unlucky.

kimlo · 05/10/2020 08:34

tw8ce. Once in March with no testing so had to do the full 2 weeks, once recently but was out once the test results were back.
