Tenuous contact - self isolate

Today my DD played with a friend’s DD at a play centre. This evening, we receive a phone call to say that someone in the friend’s DD’s class has tested positive and so she needs to stay off school. Surely this does not mean that my dd now needs to stay off school? (Separate schools btw, they live miles away). Friend and Dd are symptom free.

No second degree contacts don't need to isolate. If the friend or her DD develop symptoms in the next 48 hours you'll need to isolate but otherwise there should be no need.

No, you/your DD do not need to isolate unless you have symptoms.

MarcelineMissouri · 04/10/2020 21:22

No she doesn’t. Only if your friends dd subsequently develops symptoms.

I think it would only be if the friend tests positive?

Thanks for the reassurance! Halo
