I am getting really confused about all the guidelines. My sons in halls at uni and one of his flatmates has developed a cough. He's arranging to get a test and is isolating. Do the rest of the flat have to isolate too?

Your poor son, this must be hard! Lots of colds going around right now so fingers crossed it's just that.

His uni should have very clear policies about what students are expected to do, though obviously the government guidelines about households isolating cover the students in the flat. But check his uni's website and see what info they have.
