Which chains are refusing entry if you don't have the Test and Trace App?

I have a fairly old smartphone which isn't compatible with the app. I am perfectly happy to leave my contact details via pen and paper. Just curious as to which coffee chains/restaurants etc won't accept this?

Does the Serco app ask for a name/number when you install it? Or can it read your number from the SIM card?

GBK wouldn’t allow us in as I didn’t have the app as apparently it’s ‘the law’ to have it. I complained on their social media account and they have confirmed this is wrong and I should have had the option to leave my details manually.

I’ve now downloaded the app, the stupid thing took 3 goes as it told me my phone wasn’t compatible (iPhone 11 Pro on iOS 14🙄). I’ve got contact tracing turned off for now until I’m confident any glitches are ironed out. I don’t always carry my phone so it won’t get used much!

Burger King yesterday had a small sign at the door asking for details to be left and a website address to do this on.

Sign was so small that I only noticed it while I was glancing around while waiting for my food.

I doubt very much if many people do it there, and it didn't seem enforced at all. Haven't been anywhere else which has asked.

We were walk ins at Sticks and Sushi and had to download the app right there. They didn't make any other suggestion about taking details, and I was about to leave (old phone), then boyfriend couldn't get it to work... they just stood there for the 10 minutes it took to faff with it. Woman on the door said it was 'the law' that we had the app. I was happy to go elsewhere, boyfriend really wanted to eat there.

I basically won't be eating out if that's the case.

thanks for the replies everyone. not had any issues so far (the one place that asked me to use the app reluctantly agreed to take my contact details down instead).
