Thought I would share my observations on our testing experience over the last few days.
DS (11) started with a cold on Monday and by Wednesday after school a cough had started. He always gets a cough with a cold but having checked with both the gov advice and the school went into self-isolation.
Tried for about an hour Wed evening and then got a test for 10.30am the next day and this morning less than 24 hours later at 8.45am got a negative result.
I know not everyone's experience is as positive but I was really impressed.
It meant that DD (15) and year 11 could get back into school at 10am and we kept DS off as he is still coughing so thought would let him rest at home and do the work set by his teachers.
Some may argue about us going for a test but I could not send him in coughing to school even though I was pretty sureit was the same cough he always gets.
