They've basically made unis safe for their lecturers (by making them work at home) and are idly standing by whilst some students are doing what the hell they want. It's grossly unfair to the majority of students who want to be sensible and abide by the rules/guidance.

Plenty of us are having to go in to teach face to face, and are not allowed to teach online, because our employers don’t want an exodus of rent-paying students from campus. As I said above, this includes people in their sixties, with diabetes, asthma and heart conditions. And, as you say, plenty of students are not self-isolating, not wearing masks, not reporting having Covid symptoms, and are having mass gatherings which the campus security are refusing to break up.

That sounds pathetic and unfair on all those who want to do the right thing.

User149 - you are talking about adults, why would you expect a university to enforce them isolating, who would be enforcing it if they were not at university?

Police and local council licensing officers are enforcing the rules.
