Just that really.
Am back to work from tomorrow, in a series of temp bookings to keep me going until November. Thrilled to bits to be back in work.
Am I going to look like an idiot if I turn up wearing a mask and keep my distance from others?

Oops... Sorry all I clearly knew about the WFH if you can directive. Was a bit over tired last night.

It is great to hear so many businesses are taking precautions seriously. It is a funny time to be going back. I'd prefer WFH, but am temping so taking what's on offer. Going to a medical client today so you would hope they're compliant. Taking the chance to earn some money before winter really sets in. Agent tells me they are getting 50-60 new CVs a day due to redundancy at the moment Confused

Not very. Idiots keep shutting the door and windows instead of dressing properly.

Temperature check on arrival, we have 1 way systems inc the stairs, up one set down another, lifts only for those past a certain floor and 1 person at a time, 1 person in the kitchenette's at a time, some toilets closed so that people don't have to walk past others, available desks spread out and not along walkways, each one has a sign to say it can be used and after use you change the sign so the cleaners come and disinfect it.
I think where i work have done a brilliant job to allow to use to return safely and i'm grateful to them for that as was going mad WFH full time

Nice big office and we all have individual rooms. Barely 10% of the usual number of people back and most only do a day or two a week. Used desks cleaned every evening, hand sanitizer everywhere.

We're encouraged to wear masks in the communal area but I don't, nor do other people. You're so unlikely to actually see anyone, let alone have close contact, that it seems a bit pointless.

Only pinch point are the toilets where we're encouraged to use common sense. However, I've never been in there at the same time as another person, so it's not been a problem.

What does Covid Secure even mean?!?

2020 has seriously brought some phrases that are totally bonkers that people use so willingly and without any examination

emmathedilemma · 01/10/2020 13:50

Ours is still closed so very secure! It's reopening on Monday to those who need to go in (new recruits starting so just them and line managers at the moment), we're only using one in every 4 desks which have to be pre-booked, part of the office is closed off, furniture has been moved to make the walkways wider, kitchens only to be used for making no drinks (no access to microwave & toaster), we've even been asked to leave empty spaces between parked cars! No requirement to wear a mask but I guess if you want to no one would mind.

We’ve lots of stripey tape, cleaner and tissue to wipe equipment, only half of us in at a time. Masks in corridors. Was in a fortnight before I had to self isolate - probably not for the last time!

WhiteChocTwix · 01/10/2020 23:28

Day 1 done here. It mostly went ok. The agent told me we could wear masks if we wanted, turned out absolutely no one was wearing them, HR didn't encourage it. I'm sanitising ALOT. We're in a board room style room, 4 of us so plenty of space between laptops. I may have a WFH role coming up next after all, 🎉hoping not to catch anything over the next 4 days Hmm

We don't wear masks in the office. However only those who apply for and get clearance to be in the office can go in and that is very few people.

Everyone else works at home. We've had summer interns who completrd their internship with us who never set foot in the office.

Stillgoings · 02/10/2020 04:14

There are three of us. It is a poorly ventilated space but we are 2m apart. We don't wear masks when it's just us three but when clients come in we do. We have the door locked but clients and tradesmen still.come in regularly. We have sanitiser and wipes out and use them often. We don't do anything else.
