Anxiety and not feeling 100%

Hi, I suffer with anxiety.
Currently I think I'm starting with a cold.
Ears a bit blocked, itchy throat, needing to clear phlegm from throat tired and mild headache..
Being paranoid and always thinking the worse I'm starting to panic what if it's not a cold and its the start of covid and I really struggle (Very overweight, mild asthma, diabetes aged 41)
Currently working from home and only going out for essentials and school run.
Firstly if it's the start of a cold I assume I have got it from the shops or school or children.
If it develops into covid I assume caught it from the same place or one of the children has it without symptoms?
Also at my age and with my conditions how likely would I be to survive it. Trying to calm myself down.

Age seems to be the biggest factor with Covid-19.

Sounds very much like a cold, take your temperature, if you are still anxious it might be beneficial to isolate and get tested or talk to your GP about your own personal risk.

Rest up and have some homemade chicken soup. Even with your extra risk factors the odds are that your body will deal with this without needing extra help Thanks

Thanks Frozendaisy, I didn't know if overweight etc will make me higher risk.
Temperature is normal.
Thanks snog, will have some lemsips and early night and hopefully it will just be a cold.

I am a similar age, would recommend Vitamin D and yes look after yourself. Flowers Rest up and take care of yourself.

How are you today?

Hi Snog,
Thank you for asking how I am today.
I'm going to take an antihistamine to see if the throat stops itching. I don't feel warm and the only thermometer we have is infrared forehead that gives me a temp of 35.8.
Don't feel any worse than yesterday, just a little more drained.
I think my anxiety is high at the moment so that's not helping.

Are you managing to rest? Not always easy but I find it definitely shortens the duration of most illnesses.

Hope your anxiety eases off, is awful to feel anxious Thanks

There us a good app called calm which has stories and music which is good for anxiety Flowers distraction could help a little.

Also Headspace is doing a free bit with corona and might be good, think the Calm is subscription after a trial. Hope this helps a bit. and you feel better soon.
