Use a nail file to file your tooth down

My dentists advice today.
Had a much needed filling 2 weeks ago. It fell out at the weekend.
Called today to get a refill only to be told they are overwhelmed so only accepting trauma patients now (I had no trouble getting an appointment 2 weeks ago).
I was told that their advice is if the tooth is sharp to use a nail file to file the rough edges 😫.
It doesn’t matter that I can’t eat properly. Soup it is then ...

Ive done that before. Works well for sharp edges

You can buy temporary fillings... would something like this help?

OP you can buy a paste from Boots etc that’s like a temp filling it works wonders.

Do you have a dental hospital anywhere near? They work through regardless

my friend needs a filling fixing and the dentist told her to melt the wax from a babybel casing and use that as a make do filling 🙄

I’ve tried the file before & agree it works well.
It was more of a WTF moment I never expected to hear my dentist say that !
I lost the original filling on the first week of lockdown & tried the temp filling paste but think I compacted it too much so was relieved when it fell out as it caused more pain ! 🦷
