Cough, I know this has probably been asked before

...but I can't find a thread about it.

DH, DD and I had a cold last week.

We got over the cold and I got a cough. The other two didn't.

It could easily be a lingering cold-cough (it's dry, not phlegmy, like the bottom of my airway where it meets my lungs is itchy feels like it should be wet, but it's dry). But the others don't have it.

I feel otherwise okay, slightly sore across the back of my ribs.

No fever.
Sense of taste and smell are fine.
Tired, but no where near as tired as I was when I had the cold last week.

Test and isolate?

On one hand I want to be safe and responsible, on the other hand I know people with far worse symptoms aren't able to get tests. WWYD?

Ps I already isolated everyone today, while I figure it out.

You are describing exactly how I feel today. I've ordered a test today. My DC already off school because classmate tested positive so we are isolating as such.

I've ordered a test now. Better safe than sorry.

The cough has really settled in this evening, no sign of any other congestion, just a cough. A horrible, itchy, cough.

It's so weird that it feels chesty, but it's not chesty. That was enough to make me question it.

Good luck with your test, I hope the wait either side isn't too heinous. I'm basically writing off this week, and hoping for a negative result at the weekend.
