No heating at school?

I saw a thread earlier today about this but now can't find it so apologies but wtf? Are schools seriously not going to have heating on in winter? I appreciate that there's little point if the heat goes straight out of the windows but really? Is this a UK wide thing? An anyone link to any info please.

We aren't nesh by a long shot but Dd2 looks like a corpse at the extremities even on a cool summer day.

Our hearing is only blown air so can’t have that on. But then one of the classrooms I use doesn’t have any windows so it shouldn’t be freezing.

I’m pretty sure teachers would prefer the hearing to be on!

Well, good job you're not talking for all of us, eh? In some schools, the heating system is of the variety that will blow about any virus that is in the air, increasing the risk of infection. We just want to do our jobs safely. As it is, looks like cold will mean safer so that's what it will be. Can't wait for all the 'school's too cold, what about children's human rights?' threads. Not.

But then you shouldn’t be using it. Respiratory hygiene including good ventilation is on the Welsh Government Essentials list. If it isn’t in England it bloody should be. Rooms with no windows shouldn’t be used except for single person office spaces.
