Can't seem to get an answer on line.

Best friend has tested positive. I have seen her most days the last week. I pick her dc up from school and she picks mine up alternate days while we work so lots of mixing. I don't live with her.
I also met her at the gym 5 days ago...do I need to self isolate. I'm due on a night shift this evening and can't get hold of my manager to ask

According to the NHS website the answer is no, unless you get contacted by the t&t service.

You may want to tell people you've been in close contact with in the past 48 hours that you might have coronavirus.
What does close contact mean?
Examples of close contact include:
• close face to face contact (under 1 metre) for any length of time – including talking to them or coughing on them
• being within 1 to 2 metres of each other for more than 15 minutes – including travelling in a small vehicle
• spending lots of time in your home, such as cleaning it
They do not need to self-isolate unless they're contacted by the NHS Test and Trace service. But they should take extra care to follow social distancing advicee_, including washing their hands often.
If they get any coronavirus symptoms, they must self-isolate and get a coronavirus testt_ as soon as possible.

Thank you. Friend track and trace not working apparently and she is waiting for someone to call her back, she has been waiting since last night

Yes if you have been in contact with someone that has tested positive you should isolate for 14 days.

Typical Hmm if it was me I expect my manager would want me to WFH and cancel any clinics I was running (I work with children) but it would be done to occy health and area manager I think. Some jobs it won't be worth the risk, hopefully you can get hold of your manager.

HoneyBee03 · 28/09/2020 17:05

Were you with her 48 hours before her symptoms started?

PollyPelargonium52 · 28/09/2020 17:06

Hope u dont catch it but I am dubious gyms can be kept hygienic.

JumperTime · 28/09/2020 17:12

Not as long as you observed social distancing you don't. I've just been contacted as a close contact and have to self isolate but that is because I work prolonged periods at

Racoonworld · 28/09/2020 17:20

Have you social distanced from her? If not then yes you need to isolate.
