Worried mum

DS is 24 and a student in London. He has an anxiety disorder, including health anxiety and has had to have 2 interruptions of study so far due to his mental health. I’ve been very proud of the way he’s handled this pandemic so far but have been worried about how he’d handle it if one of his friends and family actually caught it.

Yesterday he developed a cough and this morning was tested, we are now waiting for his results. He seems calm at the moment but I’m worried sick! He’s 300 miles away in a flat share with 2 other students, I wish he was home 😰

Don’t really know why I’ve posted just wanted to get it off my chest really, haven’t told my mum or dad because they would worry even more than me

Try not to panic, there's not much you can do. Are the flatmates nice? Would they be able to get supplies to his room.
Luckily he managed to get a test, if it is positive you could order him a shopping delivery with pain relief, cough medicine, plus the usual food etc.
Just keep contacting him and reassuring him, hopefully he is negative and it is just a cough.

Must be so hard with kids at uni at the moment. I hope he’s ok and he’s negative.

@AvoidingRealHumans I’ve messaged him already to see if he has enough food etc and if not I’ll try to sort a delivery. I already sent him a little coronavirus survival kit earlier in the year with vitamin d, paracetamol and strepsils just in case lol. His flat mates are nice, he’s lived with them for a year already but they’ll need to self isolate too until he has his results

His swab has come back negative! Thank goodness for that, I didn’t sleep a wink last night. I’ve told him to order two weeks worth of food on my card anyway though 😁

I'm glad to hear it. Hope he feels better from whatever it is soon
