Symptom Study Test Invite

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 27/09/2020 22:18

I don't have symptoms. I have had a headache and am knackered.

Been invited to take a test by the symptom study app. Surely I would just be taking up a slot someone else needs?

Every time I log a headache I get asked to take a test. I think I read that the study has identified that headaches are often one of the first symptoms. I'd assumed they are checking out that hypothesis.

I think you should go. It's to help further their research.

Northernsoullover · 27/09/2020 22:23

Please take it. The people who are wasting tests are those who take a test because their next door neighbour tested positive or their because one member of their family has been identified as a contact.

If you read the email from them, it usually says that they also ask people to take a test when they don't think that person has Covid-19
Getting tested and telling them the result helps them improve their knowledge - get tested
I've been referred for tests 3 times now

hedgehogger1 · 27/09/2020 22:30

Yes take it. Headaches and fatigue seem to be as common as the three identified characteristics. It's them trying to work out whether it should be a recognised symptom. Do it but carry on as normal as you don't have the main symptoms

I had this but was a bit confused about how to get one, I followed their instructions but there were never any tests available so I gave up in the end. I wonder if it was because I put I had no symptoms. It would be useful if they had a totally separate testing system.

I've done a couple of tests through the app when I reported headache/fatigue - they asked me to do another 2 weeks ago but thought there was zero chance of getting one so didn't try. Usually I would though - it seems more use than anything T and T is doing in ruling symptoms in or out.

I have a 1yo and a 4yo. I’m always knackered and get hormonal headaches. The app has asked me to test so many times. I do it for proper symptoms but I won’t take the test for mild fatigue.
