Hi all

I have 2 sons aged 6 and 2 who are extremely close to my parents . My parents looked after them every day while I was at work and they love it ... we have cut out all of the toxic family so only have each other
My parents are 72 and 74 both fit and healthy
I am worried about giving them the virus and from March to June we stayed away .. my mum started going into depression:-( as cases are rising I am petrified of them catching it but they have said to me I am doing more harm keeping my boys away from them they said a year is a long time in their time of life and my eldest loves them ...
I just want to see if anyone similar as I would be devastated if I gave it to them

Yes! Although my parents are younger my mums in the at risk category. I take their temp before we see them and stay away if boys are unwell ( we do this anyway as mum is immunosuppressed)

My parents also want to see my kids so they have made the decision, and if possible we try to stay outside or open windows inside!

Exactly the same situation. Elderly parents, my mum also has Type
1 diabetes. We stayed away too from March toO.

They are desperate to see my children and we now see them regularly. No social distancing- it’s impossible with a 1 and 3 year old and two grandparents who want to smother them in kisses. Just don’t know what to do really, it terrifies me. Equally, life is far too short and we all feel that in the first part of this awful mess, too much precious time and memories were wasted....

Totally agree with you doing more harm keeping them away
