So dds school has staggered starts. We are at 9.10. We have been told not to arrive before that time. We are one of only a few families with this time.
Normally we arrive within a minute or two of that time. All good.
Yesterday we had a new LSA covering for teacher. Dd arrived at door at just 9.11.
Door shut and dd was told you are late! We have already done register!
So I rang the school to clarify as this seemed heavy handed. Was I right or should I have let it go?
Dd is year 2.

Technically you were late but if you aren't supposed to arrive a minute before 9.10 then obviously it could stray into 9.11+ before your child is in the classroom so yes I would have been seeking clarification too

Is her arrival time the latest, or so other groups arrive later?
It does seem harsh for the sake of a minute, but thinking about my school they would. E moving on to the next arrival ‘slot’ so I can see why they would be super prompt.

Sounds utterly unreasonable to me

The LSA sounds a bit jobsworth. One minute is hardly here nor there. What did the school say when you called?

Northernsoulgirl45 · 26/09/2020 07:47

They said they would have a word with her. Yep it is the last arrival time so I wonder if she even knew. Going to turn up at 9.05 next week I feel.
